Kelly Golemblaski first became interested in the medical and paramedical fields when she completed a Junior Red Cross First Aid Course at the age of eight. Since then, she completed a Bachelor of Physical Education (1981), with a focus in Athletic Therapy and Coaching. Her studies in Athletic Therapy continued as she pursued her Master’s Degree (1986).
Kelly used her athletic therapy skills in a variety of sports, although Football was her primary sport. She has also used her Athletic Therapy skills working in Occupational Rehabilitation settings.
While at University, Kelly also studied coaching. This was the beginning of her interest in teaching. Through her coaching experience (Basketball) and teaching for the National Coaching Certification Program and Sport Medicine Council of Alberta, Kelly realized that teaching was her real passion and the medical field was a very close second. She saw an opportunity to combine both loves by becoming a First Aid Instructor in February of 1997.
In the Fall of 1999, Kelly qualified as an instructor of the Advanced First Aid II/Emergency Medical Responder Course and continued to teach the program until 2002.
Mentoring other instructors is a role that Kelly takes very seriously and is very passionate about. Her roles as an Instructor-Trainer and Monitor allow her to work with both new instructors and those who have been around many years. Whether she is working in an official capacity or is responding to a personal request, Kelly considers it an honor and privilege to assist someone reach their goal of becoming a better instructor.
Honoring oneself as one’s word – Doing what we say we will do, when we said we would do it.
Individuals and/or groups recognize they have the capacity to make choices and transform those choices into actions.
Recognizing the value of every individual and paying the consideration or honor due. Everyone has the experience of being heard or listened to.
Everyone knows they make a difference and are valued for that difference. Knowing they make a difference has instructors and staff do everything they can to provide a safe environment for students to learn and understand the concepts so students can make a difference to others.
We believe everyone can experience freedom from harm or danger or the risk of possible damage or hurt when they learn, understand and apply safe practices and/or healthy habits to their lives.
